The Amalfi Coast is famous for it’s lemons, and now travellers to the area can discover Amalfi’s prized symbol on the Amalfi Lemon Tour.
Running every Tuesday and Saturday from April to September, the tour departs at 10 am from Piazza Duomo, near the steps of the Cathedral in Amalfi and lasts about 3 hours. The tour comprises of a guided sightseeing tour of the Aceto’s family traditional lemon groves, typical of this land. The tour in Italian and English, and is not only informative with explanations of how the lemons are grown in the area, but also includes tastings of; lemon cake and fresh lemon juice in the gardens overlooking the Valley of the Mills.
The tour then moves from the lemon groves and into a small family museum, before heading next door to the factory of La Valle dei Mulini to watch the production of limoncello and of course a tasting of this popular Amalfi Coast liqueur.
