The Avanti Italy difference – Meeting local suppliers

Meeting with local suppliers and trying new products and services are an important part of my business and what I feel makes the real Avanti Italy difference.  The main reason for me regularly travelling to Italy and spending approximately six months a year there, is to source and try local supplier’s products and services.  It is the Avanti Italy’s way of ‘quality control,’ to ensure that every experience that we suggest to our clients is not just something we’ve heard about, but seen and experienced it.

Avanti Italy Director, Emily Tassone in Avellino meeting local suppliers

Last week I had the pleasure of heading out to Avellino area, (located about an hour’s drive away inland from the Amalfi Coast) with Giuseppe from Tasting Campania.  Giuseppe, an Avellino local who has turned his passion for his area into his work, had an itinerary jammed packed for me to meet firsthand some of the people behind his tasting tours.

During the day we visit three wineries, a family run handmade marmalade business, met a local truffle hunter (and his prized hunting dogs), and finally we visited The Enoteca Regionale – showcasing the Regional Wines of Irpinia region (home to the famous Taurasi wine).  The people I met were amazing and the products they offer equally impressive.

Whether it is conducting hotel site inspections, visiting wineries, participating in cooking classes, kayaking along the Coast, or taking a boat excursion to Capri – ‘we’ve been there, done that!’ Making sure that not only will our clients be happy with what we have arranged for them, but the experience exceeds their expectations.  Ultimately Avanti Italy’s aim is for you to leave Italy loving it us much as we do; captivated by it’s beauty, culture, food and most importantly, it’s people.
